No more sharing

Being the geek that I am, I do check my webstats every once in a while. Generally, this is just a routine confirmation that Lunamania maintains chart topping popularity with the comment-spammers and that no one really reads this blog. Last month though I noticed a suspicious spike in traffic. Weird...did I mention Asian lesbian porn again? Or cliff notes to Life of Pi? Or the ever popular, yet unfulfilled search request for the Magnolia Cupcake recipe? Nyet--I discovered people were downloading/viewing my picture of SBC Park. Nearly 10,000 downloads.

Of course in cyberspace, 10,000 is nothing, but it creeped me out. I sleuthed around and concluded that I don't like sharing with strangers. OK, to be fair, they aren't really strangers. I know a lot about them. They are pimply teens (I know because I saw their pictures), devoted Korn fans, car tuners with bad spoilers, and companies dedicated to designing new-old school stadiums. Call me selfish, but these folks can go take their own pictures of the ballpark. OK I admit it, despite my attempts to be cyber-groovy, the whole thing just scared me. And hey, it's not all that interesting a picture anyway.
