Track 6

Happy Friday.

This week, I've succeeded in to leaving work each day at a reasonable hour. It's meant I've actually made some use of my ridiculously expensive gym membership.

We're preparing to embark on a one-night camping excursion to Mendocino with approximately 20 queer API women. Yikes. Given the demographic, some of us have explored ways we can hook up a karaoke machine or magic mic to a car AC adapter. We would take campfire songs to a whole new level.

Speaking of songs...(smooth transition)
The next tune was my favorite house 12", and was sadly lost in my cross country move. But here's a slightly different digital version.
It's a Mondo Grosso track produced by Shinichi Osawa and featuring Bird's most excellent vocals. Enjoy Life.

Camping Monkey was hoping to post the beginnings of a "camping rules and things to bring" list, but perhaps I should wait for the Hendy Woods entry? That would satisfy Monkey's virgo tendencies, but hey, I'm trying to let loose these days, so here we go! And besides, if I wait any longer, I'll forget what I wanted to add to the list...

1) bring jack. he loves to be in nature.
2) choose a site near water, preferably, the ocean or some other big body of water that makes lots of soothing, repetitive noises
3) make sure you can build fires at the site, but set time limits on how long luna gets to poke at them
4) bring a bathing suit, so you can soak in refreshing streams, hot springs, hot tubs
5) wear tevas, especially if the stream happens to be slimy in parts
5) don't scream at the wildlife (that rules is generally applicable, but particularly appropriate while camping)
6) allot plenty of daylight travel time, so you can stop at stop at random fruit stands and chowder stops... yummy!
7) load up the cd player, or bring the ipod, so you don't have to listen to christian rock
8) look for the classic rock stations, so you can practice for karaoke nights
